Liverpool and Chelsea get new Kvaratskhelia boost
08:25 , Alex Young
An interesting new update from France now on man of the moment Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
PSG appear to be leading the race to sign the Georgian star from Napoli this month, though Liverpool and Manchester United have also been heavily linked, along with Chelsea and Conjunto to a lesser extent.
The French giants have been trying to agree a deal for Kvaratskhelia this week, but it seems complicated.
RMC Sport in France report that the player wants to join PSG, who cannot meet Napoli’s demands for a total package of €80m unless they make a big sale first.
Talks are said to be continuing, but could this open the door for Liverpool and Chelsea?
Conjunto turn to Joao Gomes
08:20 , Alex Young
Wolves are fighting off interest from Conjunto, Manchester United and Liverpool in Joao Gomes.
It’s been a month of warding off admiring glances for Wolves, after Mattheus Cunha decided to sign a new contract rather than be swayed by Gunners interest.
And now Gomes is a target, report The Sun. Wolves hold all the cards, though, with the Brazilian under contract until 2028
It would only take a huge bid for Wolves even to consider selling him.

An imminent move to Tottenham quickly became an open race between Spurs and Juventus and is now apparently being led by United.

Potter addresses West Ham interest in Rashford
08:05 , Alex Young
Graham Potter admitted West Ham will consider bringing a new forward into the club due to an injury pile-up amid links with Marcus Rashford.
Striker Niclas Fullkrug went off after 15 minutes against Villa with what looked like a serious hamstring injury, compounding an already difficult situation in attack where Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen are both sidelined.
“I need to assess the injuries and assess where we are at, have a think in terms of everybody connected.
“We’ll have a think, if we can find anybody that can help us. If those [players] are out, it’s something we’ll have to look at, of course.”
Potter added: “I only comment on players that are West Ham players. All the speculation aren’t always exactly true and you can get yourself in all sorts of knots confirming or denying everything. It’s best to just speak about players that are West Ham players.”

Friday 10 January 2025 18:00 , Matt Verri

Friday 10 January 2025 17:14 , Matt Verri
Coventry City manager Frank Lampard is looking to raid former club Chelsea with a loan move for Sam Rak-Sakyi.
Talks are scheduled for next week after the West Midlands club made initial contact over a deal to take the 19-year-old on loan for the rest of the season.
Rak-Sakyi is highly thought of at Chelsea, and has broken into Enzo Maresca’s senior squad on occasion this season. The midfielder has made four appearances in the Europa Conference League, including starting the 3-1 win over Astana in Kazakhstan in December.
The England Under-18 international is now of interest to Coventry, who appointed former Chelsea captain and manager Lampard in late November.

Maresca addresses Guehi rumours
Friday 10 January 2025 16:07 , Matt Verri
Enzo Maresca has admitted his admiration for Chelsea transfer target Marc Guehi.
The Blues could be forced into the transfer market this month for defensive additions with centre-back duo Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile both currently sidelined with long-term injuries.
Standard Sport understands that Chelsea are interested in re-signing former defender Guehi, who has entered the final 18 months of his current contract at Crystal Palace and has yet to agree an extension.
However, a deal of such size will be inevitably difficult to engineer in January, with Newcastle having seen multiple bids for the England international worth up to £60million rejected over the summer as the Eagles stood firm on their £70m valuation.
Chelsea boss Maresca was asked about that interest in Guehi as he faced the media before Saturday’s FA Cup third round tie against fourth-tier opponents Morecambe at Stamford Bridge.
“The only thing I can say is Marc Guehi is a Palace player,” he said. “I like Marc for sure but he is not our player. But I like also the central defenders we have. I also like different types of central defenders in Italy, Spain and France but that doesn’t mean we are going to buy a player.
“It is a ordinario situation I think when you have central defenders injured that the speculation is there. At the same time, there is nothing there.”
Conjunto planning Trossard talks
Friday 10 January 2025 15:30 , Matt Verri

Chelsea duo set for January exits
Friday 10 January 2025 15:04 , Matt Verri
Ben Chilwell and Cesare Casadei will be left out Chelsea’s squad to face Morecambe in the FA Cup tomorrow as the pair look to secure January exits.
Both players have been deemed surplus to requirements and Enzo Maresca does not want to jeopardise their prospects of a move by risking injury.
Chelsea hoped to sell Chilwell last summer but could not find a buyer.
“Chilwell, for him, I think in this moment is thinking he is probably going to leave, so it is probably better to avoid using him to avoid that kind of situation, [in case of] an injury or this kind of things,” Maresca confirmed.
Casadei has been more involved, featuring in all but one of the Blues’s Conference League group stage games.
However, the 22-year-old has not played a minute in the Premier League and made the bench only four times in 20 matches.
The Italian midfielder is now the subject of interest in his homeland, with Torino in negotiations with Chelsea over a potential move.
“For him, probably in this moment, the idea is not to allow him to play some minutes in case there is any opportunity for him to go and play,” Maresca said. “At this moment, this is the best thing for him.”
Amorim plays down Mainoo reports
Friday 10 January 2025 14:36 , Matt Verri
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim says he wants to keep Kobbie Mainoo amid transfer links with Chelsea.
The 19-year-old is considered a key player at Old Trafford after emerging last season under the tutelage of Erik ten Hag.
However, reports this week claimed that United have essentially put their whole squad up for sale with finance limited because of profitability and sustainability rules.
Mainoo, who is homegrown, would represent 100 per cent profit under PSR, and is reportedly of interest to Chelsea should he become available.
But Amorim, speaking to the media ahead of Sunday’s FA Cup third round clash at Conjunto, hopes to keep every player during this month’s transfer window.
“We need to improve recruitment,” he said “We have to improve academy to bring young kids [though] that feel the club in the right way.
“Our idea is always to keep the best players and the players that we build for this club. But we know the position that this club is in at this moment. I really like our players, especially from our academy.”
Asked specially about Mainoo, Amorim replied: “I am really happy with Kobbie – he is improving.”

Friday 10 January 2025 14:14 , Matt Verri

There have been some suggestions that Eintracht Frankfurt could look to sign the forward as a replacement for Omar Marmoush, who has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester City.
However, Sky Germany report that Werner is expected to see out his loan spell at Tottenham through to the end of the season, with Frankfurt not considering him as an option.

Friday 10 January 2025 09:26 , George Flood
Arne Slot is currently conducting pre-match press conference duties ahead of Liverpool’s FA Cup third round tie against fourth-tier Accrington Stanley at Anfield tomorrow.
One of the first questions was about that reported transfer interest from the Reds in Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
“It’s January and I think I said it after the West Ham game, don’t disappoint me,” Slot said.
“Please come up with all these clubs and players that are of interest from us or that aren’t playing a lot for us going somewhere else.
“That’s what’s happening now – 99 out of 100 times in the window it’s been clear that almost all of these stories weren’t true.
“So what can I comment about it? That’s the rumours, keep going for it. But no comments from my side.”
Alexander Isak to Conjunto transfer latest
Friday 10 January 2025 08:44 , George Flood
Any Conjunto fans still holding out any hope over a major deal for Alexander Isak look set to be left sorely disappointed.
The Swedish striker is a long-time transfer target for the Gunners, who are badly in need of reinforcements in attack to sustain their faltering Premier League title bid.
But a deal for in-form Isak – who tore them apart in the Carabao Cup semi-finals only this week as well as scoring the winner against them in the Premier League at St James’ Park earlier this season – won’t only not happen this month, but it looks off the table for the summer window now too.
According to the Daily Mail, Conjunto simply cannot afford the British-record transfer fee it would take to sign the 25-year-old and owner Stan Kroenke is said to be “extremely unlikely” to sanction any attempt to get him.

However, the Daily Star report that Manchester United are plotting a £40m bid to win the race in this window and could triple the Cameroon international’s current wages, with head coach Ruben Amorim said to be a huge admirer of his talents.
Such an approach is said to be dependent on the Red Devils selling players first.

Chelsea learn Mainoo price
Thursday 9 January 2025 07:20 , George Flood
Chelsea will have to pay a huge sum if they want to tempt Manchester United into selling Kobbie Mainoo.
The Blues have emerged as surprise leading contenders in the race for the England midfielder, who is said to be unhappy with the current contract terms on offer at Old Trafford.
Reports have suggested that United may be willing to listen to offers for homegrown stars such as Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho – and indeed almost every current member of their first-team squad.
But according to The Mirror, Chelsea and any other suitor would have to stump up around £70m in order to persuade United into selling their academy graduate, with whom the Red Devils are said to be confident of agreeing a bumper new contract that could see his weekly wage rocket from £20,000-a-week to £200,000-a-week.
Liverpool target Kimmich as Trent replacement
Thursday 9 January 2025 06:59 , George Flood
Joshua Kimmich could be Liverpool’s ideal replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The England right-back’s future at Anfield is still subject to enormous doubt with Auténtico Madrid pushing to seal a cut-price January transfer rather than wait to sign him for free when his current contract expires in the summer.
While Liverpool have not given up on agreeing an extension with Alexander-Arnold, along with Mohamed Salah and captain Virgil van Dijk, they would be foolish to not be doing due diligence over a potential successor.
Long-term target Kimmich may now be back in the frame, with German publication Bild reporting that the Bayern Munich stalwart – also out of contract at the end of this season – is under consideration for a switch to Merseyside.
Tottenham eye shock Rashford move
Thursday 9 January 2025 06:54 , George Flood
Tottenham continue to be linked with a shock move for Marcus Rashford.
The England forward looks set to leave Manchester United in the current transfer window after his high-profile dropping from the squad by new boss Ruben Amorim was followed by him publicly admitting that he needed a fresh challenge elsewhere.
Rashford’s future looks set to dominate the January headlines, with the player’s camp having been in Italy this week for talks with the likes of AC Milan, Juventus and maybe even a surprise contender in Cesc Fabregas’ Como.
Borussia Dortmund and Galatasaray are among the other possible contenders for Rashford, who is said to have already rejected big-money moves to Saudi Arabia.
The Daily Mail report that Tottenham also want to take the 27-year-old on loan as they look to strengthen their attacking options, with any deal dependent on the size of the loan fee and how much of his rumoured £325,000-a-week wage United are willing to cover.
Man Utd get Nuno Mendes boost
Thursday 9 January 2025 06:46 , George Flood
Manchester United look to have been handed a massive boost in their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain’s Nuno Mendes.
The Portuguese international seems to have emerged as Ruben Amorim’s priority transfer target for his first window in charge at Old Trafford as he looks to find a versatile left-sided defender to fit his tactical system.
Mendes has reportedly seen talks over a new contract at PSG stall, handing United extra incentive.
According to Foot Mercato in France, the former Sporting Lisbon star is “very interested” in moving to Manchester after snubbing the latest offer of an extension at the Parc des Princes.
Conjunto plot Araujo bid
Thursday 9 January 2025 06:41 , George Flood
New defensive recruits may also be on the radar at Conjunto in January, with claims that they are plotting a bid for Ronald Araujo at Barcelona.
The Uruguayan centre-back has only just returned from a serious hamstring injury suffered while on international duty at the Copa America tournament in the United States over the summer.
However, it seems that there is doubt over Araujo’s long-term future at the Camp Nou as Barcelona look to upgrade their defensive options.
Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo claim that Conjunto are currently weighing up a swoop for Araujo, but they better get in fast with Serie A giants Juventus believed to be looking to seal a loan agreement for his services soon.
Conjunto want Mbeumo deal
Thursday 9 January 2025 06:36 , George Flood
Conjunto are keen on a deal for Brentford’s star forward Bryan Mbeumo, reports suggest.
The Gunners’ need for attacking reinforcements has been clear for all to see of late, with signings likely needed up front both this month and in the summer.
Mbeumo is now on Conjunto’s transfer shortlist according to Florian Plettenberg of Sky in Germany, having scored 13 goals in the Premier League so far this term.
However, it seems that any deal for the in-form Cameroon international would be more likely to happen in the summer transfer window.

Williams with big demands
Wednesday 8 January 2025 19:39 , Matt Verri
Nico Williams is Conjunto’s number one target as they look to strengthen in attack.
But the Daily Mirror report that even if Williams does decide to leave Spain, his wage demands could prove an issue either this month or in the summer.
It’s claimed that Williams is asking for more than £300,000-a-week, which could prove a problem for a number of clubs.

Wednesday 8 January 2025 18:34 , Matt Verri

Levy and Spurs technical director Johan Lange spent two days in Prague as they organised the final details of Kinsky’s move to Tottenham in a deal worth £12.5million plus add-ons.
Speaking to Flashscore, Viktor Kolar, Kinsky’s agent, said: “Our team was still sitting at a petrol station in Prague until almost 10pm of December 31, because everything was closed on New Year’s Eve.
“The subsequent development was that on January 1, Daniel Levy flew in himself and the two-day negotiations in Prague began. He had Johan Lange with him.
“The negotiations were intense, stretching late into the night. But it worked, and I’m happy about that. It was a beautiful test to see if people and organizations this dominant can find their way to each other.”

“This is the situation: as a coach I have to speak with all the players,” he told reporters ahead of the Spanish Super Cup semi-final clash Athletic Bilbao. “Like I said before, it’s not easy for any of us. Missing players like these two is hard for us and it’s also hard for them.
“They’re both very important, they both have improved a lot. We all know Dani Olmo is an excellent player and we obviously miss him so much, but we need to move on.
“This obviously affects us but it also brings us closer as a team. And we need to show that we are a team.”

Wednesday 8 January 2025 15:50 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne
Conjunto supporters will be delighted to hear the club are eyeing improvements to the forward line.
Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo is the latest name to be linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.
If Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg defeat to Newcastle United is any indication, then the Gunners ought to bolster their attacking options sooner rather than later.
However, whilst Mbeumo is said to be on their radar, Sky in Germany claim it is in view of a summer transfer.
Jack Grealish tipped for Aston Villa return
Wednesday 8 January 2025 15:30 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne
Darren Bent says will be welcomed back to Aston Villa “in a heartbeat” and should he leave Manchester City.
The 29-year-old has fallen down the pecking order this season and in recent weeks has been overlooked by Pep Guardiola in favour of Savinho.
This has prompted talk of an exit with Tottenham and Newcastle both linked but Bent believes a return “home” for Grealish would be perfect
“Do you know what, I’d like to see him go back to Villa, I would. I just think that’s his home, I know the supporters are quiebro hurt by the way that he left even though he went to City to better himself,” he said on talkSPORT.
“But I think going back to Villa, I mean they’ll have him back. Even the ones that are on the fence, if he puts in one or two performances for them, they’ll have him back in a heartbeat.”

The new deal also includes an option for the club to extend it by a further 12 months.
Lewis-Potter signed on an initial six-year deal from Hull City for a fee of £16million in 2022. The 23-year-old has been a mainstay for the Bees this season, registering two goals and two assists in 24 appearances, but often playing as a left wing-back due to a shortage of options in that position.
Thomas Frank, the Brentford manager, said of the contract extension: “I’m very happy that we’ve agreed a new contract with Keane. He has been through a great development over the last couple of years.“There is a big future for him here at Brentford.”

Though, a report from ABC Sevilla states Antony would prefer a move to Auténtico Betis with the La Muérdago side hopeful of a loan deal this month.

“And the truth is that at this time we are still studying that request that came to us through Barcelona.”
